After the wonderfully relaxing 5 day vacation/cruise we took without the kids (THANKS SOOO MUCH, Mom & Dad for giving Adam and Samantha their "staycation") we missed them like crazy! We enjoyed the break (Shelly slept better than she has in a year) and we were ready for the next big event:
HAPPY EASTER!
At church, we sang a few songs, danced a little dance, prayed and praised the risen Christ! ...and then Adam proceeded to sleep through the remainder of the mass while Samantha wiggled so much that Daddy took her outside for a little walk.
We stopped home for all of about 10 minutes so Adam could see what the Easter Bunny brought for the kids while we were at Church. I'm going to have to let the Easter Bunny know that he needs to change his delivery schedule for next year, because it was just MEAN to put a basket full of toys & candy in front of the preschooler & say "Okay, cool right? Thanks Easter Bunny. Now get back in the car because we have someplace else we have to be!"
Meh- Live & learn.
He didn't complain when he was allowed to, pretty much, camp out in front of the bowl of pastel M&M's at the Jarosz party.
Then off to the Hides Family Easter.
Just a word about our AMAZING host & hostess for the day. Aunt Nancy a FANTASTIC cook and an amazing hostess with a stunning house who, while cooking an amazing feast for at least 20, found time to ask the Easter Bunny to fill & hide plastic eggs around the house. A different color egg for each of the 9 children who were there to celebrate.
Sammy's Eggs were Orange.
Uncle Rick has a special connection with the Easter Bunny and wrote special clues for EACH of the 9 children to find a special basket of goodies chosen just for them. It was a long story arch, but it was entertaining for the adults, too- the kids all felt very special.
We had a lovely day and a lovely evening.
The boys even "snuck" in some video games. The DS is Adam's new favorite, too... he is his father's son AND Charlie's shadow. Poor kid- didn't stand a chance against it!
We very much missed Sandy and Mike (as we always do) and said extra prayers that they'd be available to celebrate with us soon.
We missed Grandma Hides (but we think she was there with us anyway) and did a toast to her with Metaxa just after cracking our Greek Easter Eggs and saying "Christos Anesti!"
We hope you had a blessed Easter and we hope you have a happy spring!
